Principal Network Engineer (Focus on Cisco, Palo Alto, Azure, Meraki, and F5)
We are seeking a Principal Network Engineer with deep hands-on experience in Cisco networking, Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Meraki SD-WAN, Azure hybrid cloud, and F5 load balancing. This role is ideal for a technical expert who excels in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-scale, secure, and highly available network infrastructures across multi-datacenter and hybrid cloud environments.
Key Technologies & Tools Used:
Networking Platforms: Cisco (Catalyst, Nexus, IOS, IOS-XE), Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco Meraki SD-WAN
Cloud Networking: Microsoft Azure (VPN, ExpressRoute), AWS and GCP (preferred)
Security Tools: Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco ASA, Cisco ISE, Cisco Secure ACS (TACACS+/AAA)
Load Balancing: F5 BIG-IP (LTM, GTM)
Monitoring & Troubleshooting: SolarWinds Orion (NPM, NCM, NTA), Wireshark, SNMP (v2 & v3)
Automation: Scripting and tools for disaster recovery, configuration, and deployment
Protocols: BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, DMVPN, IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, NAT
Responsibilities
Network Architecture & Design
Lead network design for multi-datacenter and hybrid Azure environments.
Implement advanced Cisco routing and switching solutions.
Ensure high availability and scalability across on-premise and cloud infrastructure.
Firewall & Network Security
Configure and manage Palo Alto and Cisco ASA firewalls, including packet inspection, VPNs, and access control policies.
Design security architectures that comply with standards such as PCI, SOX, and GDPR.
Utilize tools like Cisco ISE and Secure ACS for identity and access management.
Cloud & SD-WAN
Deploy and support Cisco Meraki SD-WAN for secure and optimized branch connectivity.
Build hybrid connectivity between Azure Cloud and on-premise systems using VPN, ExpressRoute, and secure routing policies.
Load Balancing & Traffic Management
Design and manage F5 BIG-IP load balancers to ensure performance, redundancy, and failover.
Implement global and local load balancing for distributed applications.
Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Automation
Utilize SolarWinds Orion suite (NPM, NCM, NTA), Wireshark, and SNMP tools for proactive monitoring and issue resolution.
Lead root cause analysis and implement network automation for disaster recovery and configuration.
Leadership & Collaboration
Serve as a technical leader and mentor within the infrastructure team.
Collaborate with security, cloud, and systems teams on integrated solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
8-10+ years in enterprise network engineering, with proven expertise in:
Cisco network infrastructure (CCNP/CCIE preferred)
Palo Alto firewall configuration (PCNSE a plus)
Azure networking (ExpressRoute, VPNs)
F5 LTM/GTM
Meraki SD-WAN
Familiarity with AWS and GCP networking (preferred).
Strong background in network security, encryption, and compliance standards.
Experience with network automation and DevOps principles.
Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, PCNSE, F5, Meraki, or Azure Networking are highly desirable.
